Root Canals

The word “Root Canal” can sure send chills up your spine can’t it. The reason why root canals are so feared nowadays is because they used to be a really painful experience. Those days are over.

With the latest technology, advances in anesthesia, and Dr. Zac Potts’ unique technique will make root canals actually a much more pleasant experience than almost anything else you can have done at a dental office. A large portion of our patients actually fall asleep during the treatment. With Dr. Zac’s technique, root canals can be completed start to finish in only one short visit.

The process of doing a root canal is quite simple with today’s latest technology. First the tooth is put to sleep. Then we clean out all the decay (cavity). Then the tiny nerve and blood vessel (pulp) is removed from the tooth, the tooth and canal is then cleaned and disinfected, and finally filled.

In Only One Hour!

The whole root canal process takes about an hour (a little longer for back teeth/molars) and it is more of a relief of pain than a cause of pain. The only symptom usually observed after root canal treatment is a slight sensitivity to chewing on that tooth for about a day. One Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) and one Tylenol taken together will usually resolve this.
